1. Tax reform and mandated cuts to regulations with goal to incentivize private contractors to build 100,000 new houses a year. Number realistic, dunno?

2. Medicare for all.

3. Federal law prohibiting gun ownership for anyone with 2 state DUIs. Supreme Court recently upheld similar federal law prohibiting gun possession to those with misdemeanor domestic violence convictions.

4. No homeless vets.

If there are three big issues that the Dems need to come up with and develop a coherent plan to address that they can deliver on, what would those be? I get the economy as a broad idea, but what would an actual plan to address the problem be?

I’ll vote for any democrat that proposes a plan for one of these ideas: prosecuting this admin’s thieving grifters so we can reclaim some funds, campaign finance laws so we can get some decent candidates in office, raising minimum wage, tax code reform, single payer healthcare, immigration reform, and changing zoning so more affordable housing can be built.

This is not an airport. You do not have to announce your departure.

The Democrats need to release their autopsy report. Otherwise, what has changed? They can win mid-terms because of Trump’s actions, but there is no promise that will ensure 2028.

The article literally says that.

At the risk of sounding repetitive, since when do DC democrats have to have the balls? Where are the young Dems? The young Dems serving as committee persons? This is also YOUR democracy! I’m almost 75 years of age. I was a poll greeter, poll watcher, food runner for dem poll workers and assisted in bringing votes to the county seat last year for tabulation. I’ve committed for the same duties this year and beyond. Get the fuck off instagram, tik tok or whatever is popular. I’m from PA. I want MAGA Fetterman out. Will you help? How’s that for balls!

Not enough and why are so many elected leaders willing to die on the Trump hill?

They're afraid of the crazy people. I mean, they saw Jan 6.

With all the available evidence for the last decade it is beyond fathomable that these political preferences are this close. We are a broken nation.

Nice summary of where we are now. Thanks to the tariff pain, Minneapolis, and Iran (and the consequent cost of filling up), the statute of limitations for Biden-blaming has been reached. I wish it hadn't taken terrible things to create a political climate in which even the most hapless Democrat could see a way to seize the moment (or, at least reach for it). Now, if we can only keep from pooping in our own nests. [See my May 3 article "Enemy of the Good."]. Also, we have Trump Fatigue enervating all but the most rapid MAGAs. [I wrote about this, too: April 25, "Always on My Mind."]. As they say: the time is ripe.

rabid...not rapid (they are not, after all, that quick)
