I was thinking today why Scott appears to be having a cultural moment (not an overnight success but a lifetime built moment). And then I read this, being relatively new to his work, and it dawned on me it's his humanity and his lack of fear in expressing it (clearly he's intelligent and insightful too) Humanity and bravery are under threat at least in many forums that humans seem to be attracted towards in these current times! And the idea of the written word being a cornerstone of so many positive human effects makes me applaud this newsletter and ponder as less and less humans humans actually write anything meaningful what does that mean.....cheers and keep up the humanity Scotty G
Not a well thought out comment for a couple of reasons. Making financial or cultural commentary or recommendations based on an administration's decisions doesn't necessarily make it primarily political commentary. You should know this already. Moreover this makes Scott a premier expert to make these comments given his business background and track record. It's obvious you are just butt-hurt because of some criticism of your chosen candidate is based on facts and you are having difficulty dealing with your feelings
Because we want people to speak up against the shadows. We are living at times of unprecedented decadence in American politics. What a shame for the worlds most powerful country
To my son I too wrote about the stuff that needed to be fleshed out and spoken of, both to make sense of it for myself, but also to disclose my love for him, that I knew the experience no doubt affected him as well. Something I suspect he too will reflect upon after I’m gone. And that was impact Vietnam had upon me. That it’s been well received by others is just a validation I did something good.
Congrats and as a fellow father, love the newsletter ending to emphasize your “why”. Your summary reminds me of the Bill Gates attributed quote that people over estimate how much you can do in one year while under estimate what can be accomplished in 10 years. Keep up the great work!
Your kids have no idea how lucky they are. They'll probably roll their eyes at your advice, complain that you're embarrassing, or take your love for granted. I don't blame them. They can't miss what they've always had. But for those of us who grew up without a father who showed up, it's impossible not to wonder what life might have looked like if we'd had one like you. Thanks for all you do.

I actually removed my garmin five months ago as I was relying on it too much. With all this tech we're losing our intuition and awareness of self which is what we need to make good valued decisions in life IMHO. I mean yes let's get the data to help with those decisions from time to time or if we need to take a major left turn somewhere but let's not make it part of our complete operating system.
